Wheels Mag Reviews Anchilex A-One Pro & A-Max Pro, Smart Motorcycle Displays

We’re pleased to share a recent review of the Anchilex A-One Pro and Anchilex A-Max Pro published by Wheels Mag, an Italian digital magazine.

The publication tested both motorcycle navigation systems over several months, exploring how their navigation, connectivity, camera and safety features perform in real-world riding conditions. While the two models share the same core platform, each is designed for a different type of rider.

A-One Pro: Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for Motorcycles

The Anchilex A-One Pro is designed as a dedicated motorcycle display for riders who want to use wireless Android Auto or Apple CarPlay through their smartphone. Wheels Mag highlighted its intuitive operation, split-screen functionality and ability to display navigation and camera footage at the same time. The review also praised the optional wireless handlebar controller. Its multifunction buttons allow riders to manage the device and capture images from the cameras without interacting directly with the touchscreen. The Anchilex A-One Pro also supports an optional mmWave radar that detects vehicles approaching from behind and can automatically activate the rear camera view when a potential risk is identified.

A-Max Pro: A Standalone Android Motorcycle Navigation System

The Anchilex A-Max Pro takes a more independent approach. It runs Android 12 and includes an octa-core processor, 4 GB of memory, 64 GB of storage, a SIM card slot and integrated 4G connectivity. This allows the system to work as a standalone Android device without requiring a permanently connected smartphone. During its testing, Wheels Mag installed and used applications including Google Maps, Waze and Komoot, reporting that they worked effectively on the device. The reviewer also noted that users can download apps directly from the Google Play Store and manage files and folders as they would on an Android smartphone or tablet. Another advantage highlighted in the review was the ability to download maps and use the Anchilex A-Max Pro for offline motorcycle navigation when an active data connection is unavailable.

Front and Rear Motorcycle Cameras

Both models include front and rear 1080p Sony HDR cameras with automatic loop recording. Wheels Mag reported that the cameras produced clear images, including in lower-visibility conditions. Riders can view either camera individually or use a split-screen mode to display navigation and camera footage together. Recordings are stored on a microSD card and can be viewed, transferred or deleted through the Vidure app. This combination makes both devices more than conventional motorcycle GPS displays, bringing navigation and front-and-rear dash cam functionality together in one system.

GPS Tracking and Connected Security

The review also explored the A-Max Pro’s connected security capabilities. With a SIM card installed, the device can be used through the Carkeeper app to receive movement alerts, access camera images remotely and receive short video clips when unexpected movement is detected. Its integrated GPS can also record speed, route, latitude and longitude data, allowing riders to review their journey history through the app. According to Wheels Mag, the A-Max Pro’s 4G connectivity significantly expands what the device can do compared with a traditional smartphone-connected motorcycle display.

Wheels Mag’s Preferred Model

After testing both systems, Wheels Mag selected the A-Max Pro as its preferred model.

The publication’s decision was primarily based on its 4G connectivity, standalone Android operating system and ability to work without relying on a smartphone. The reviewer particularly valued the freedom to install Android apps, use full versions of navigation platforms and access connected tracking and security functions.

However, the review also found strengths in the A-One Pro, particularly its wireless controller, smartphone integration and compatibility with the optional rear radar system.

For riders who prefer a familiar Android Auto or Apple CarPlay experience, the A-One Pro remains the more straightforward option. For those looking for greater independence, connectivity and app flexibility, the A-Max Pro offers a more advanced platform.
